Our Dentist

Dr. Alan MarcotteGreat Bend Kansas is my home town. My father built a rural home five miles outside the city limits where my family lived until I was 13 years old when we moved to town.

I was the child that always took things apart and put them back together. I learned the value of hard work at a young age and still find that as a valuable attribute in my life. I graduated from Great Bend high School in 1979 and began my college education at Devry Institute of technology working toward an electrical engineering degree. Three semesters later I reexamined my goals when I found I did not like calculators as well as I liked people.

I looked for people that had similar personalities to mine and found that my uncle and grandfather seemed to have traits that I saw in myself. My uncle Dr. Loren Kutina and grandfather Dr. George Kutina were both dentists. I decided to try follow them into the study of Dentistry. I attended the University of Kansas from 1981 to 1984 studying Organisimal Biology. In 1984, I was accepted to dental school at the University of Missouri – Kansas City.  In 1988, I graduated with the degree Doctor of Dental Surgery and moved to Pratt Kansas as an associate in a busy dental practice.

I worked in Pratt for three years where I met my future wife, Yvonne, then married in the fall of 1989. In July 2001 my family moved to Winfield Kansas after purchasing my dental practice from Dr. Michael Fraizer. The original office in the Lagonda Hotel building was housed in a 900 square foot space. We worked in cramped quarters until June of 2001 when we opened our present office in the Pierce building .

I continue to expand my clinical abilities through educational investment and practice. I am one of the founding members of the Create Dentistry Study Club, a chapter of the Seattle Study Club. I am also a past president of the Kansas Society of Dentistry for Children as well as the Southern District Dental Society.

Our goal is to create a high quality dentistry by collaborating with other like minded dentists, and then sharing practice experience to improve the quality and durability of the work that we provide to our patients.

My family is an important element in my life. Yvonne has volunteered in the community as a teacher, theatre director, and many other aspects that complement our community. My three children, Cosette, Manon, and Brennon are truly joys.

I hope that you find our practice inviting and a comfortable home for your dental needs. I will daily strive to provide high quality care to meet your needs in a way that pleases you and my Lord Jesus Christ.
